PRICELESS GIFTS

PRICELESS GIFTS

Thank you God for blessing me
With eyes that are able to see
The beauty of a summer's day,
All creatures roaming free.
The wonder of a mountain
In all it's splendor stands,
The sea, deep blue and calm now
As it laps upon the sands.
 Thank you God for blessing me
With hands that are able to feel
The softness of a baby's skin,
Or serve a daily meal;
For hands that can be gentle,
Or soothing to the touch,
That can minister to those I love
And care for them so much.
Thank you God for blessing me
With ears that are able to hear
The rough sea crashing on the rocks,
The seagulls far and near.

For eras that can appreciate
All music, sad or gay,
That can hear birdsong in a wood
Or children's laughter at play.
For the blessing of my heart
Dear God, I thank you most of all,
For it enables me to love so much
And guides me when I fall;
It tells me what is right and wrong,
It points me to the way
That I should care for others
And the loving things to say.
All these blessings we accept
In such a casual way,
We somehow take for granted
What is given every day;
So let us ponder for a while
And find the time to say
A "Thank You" for these priceless gifts
We are given day by day.
