LOTTERY

Life is just a game of chance
An endless lottery.
The lucky ones find true romance
The losers a lonely misery.
I became a loser in life’s lottery,
When my luck ran out in a cruel way.
For you were taken tragically from me,
And now I shed a tear each day.
At night I kneel and pray
But when I awake from my sleep
I’m like a lonely castaway
And a shepherd without his sheep.
Daytime brings me no respite,
Although my eyes are sore and dry.
When the shades of night return,
I still break down and cry.
