UNRESTRAINED LONGINGS

In the realm of unrestrained longings,
Where hearts yearn for solace, their songs,
I bleed, a vessel of unending need,
As coursing desires, in veins they feed.

Expectations, like roots entwined in pain,
Burden my soul, their weight a heavy chain.
A knife, a betrayal upon my weary back,
The first bloodletting, an unwelcome attack.

Yet deeper still, it pierced my tender heart,
Tearing asunder, leaving wounds to smart.
Demands, they dance, in hunger they're sated,
While demons within you, their thirst abated.

But in the silent hours, at 3 a.m. it seems,
My tears fall freely, like unspoken dreams.
Angels, guardians, unseen and unheard,
Witness my sorrow, each unspoken word.

And as I wait for this world to spin less fast,
To find a moment of peace that may ever last,
Take what you will, for I have paid the toll,
But mark my words, time will temper your control.

For one day, my blood will turn cold and still,
A distant echo, a memory that time will fulfill.
And then, dear one, whose fate will you attempt to sway,
When I am but a whisper, a wisp of yesterday?

In the realm of unrestrained desires and strife,
May you learn, my love, the essence of a life,
To seek solace in kindness, in compassion find peace,
For true fulfillment lies in love's gentle release.
