TRUE LOVE PERSISTS
As metal, stone, and earth in time decay,
No fortress built can hold mortality at bay.
How, midst this tempest, can beauty's grace,
Persist like petals in a fleeting embrace?
Shall summer's fragrant breath withstand the test,
Against the ruthless siege of days' unrest?
When even the mightiest rocks yield to fate's decree,
And gates of steel, once staunch, are set free.
In contemplation's shadow, I'm forced to ponder,
Where can time's treasures find their shelter yonder?
What strength can arrest the relentless flight,
And protect love's splendor from endless night?
None, unless a miracle intervenes,
In ink, perhaps, love's eternal sheen.
Yet, let us expand the realm of dreams,
Where love's essence flows in endless streams.
For even in the face of time's cruel might,
True love persists, an everlasting light,
A symphony of hearts, where beauty takes flight,
Inscribed in verses, our love's endless night.
