A day of joy, a day of cheer!
With smiling hearts and clothes so new,
We thank Allah in all we do.
It started long, long years ago,
When Prophet Ibrahim heard, you know—
A dream from Allah, clear and true,
To do what He had asked him to.
He loved his son, young Ismail,
But trusted Allah all the while.
Just as he bowed to do the task,
Allah said, “Stop!”—no need to ask.
A ram was sent from up above,
A gift of mercy, peace, and love.
And so, we learn this tale today—
To trust in God and always pray.
We wake up early on Eid day,
We fold our hands, and then we pray.
In fields and mosques, we say "Takbeer,"
With voices loud for all to hear!
We sacrifice a sheep or cow,
Or goat or camel, if you know how.
The meat we share, not just our part—
We give with joy and open heart.
One-third for us, and one we send
To family, neighbor, or a friend.
The final third, a gift so sweet,
To those who have no food to eat.
We greet each soul with "Eid Mubarak!"
With hugs and smiles—no one is stuck!
We visit homes, enjoy a treat,
With dates, biryani, and things to eat!
So let us learn and never forget,
This day is more than fun we get.
It’s faith, it’s love, it’s sharing too—
It’s doing what Allah asks us to do!
