AUTUMN
The colorful season of Autumn
Is with us now,
A wealth of changing color
Upon the bough.
Gradually the leaves turn
To red and gold,
A wonderfully bright canvas
Starts to unfold.
No painter could ever hope to paint
Such a scene,
With yellow, orange, crimson
And shades in between.
The woodlands are a special place
In which to be,
There's so much beauty all around
For one to see.
Even the fallen leaves, add to the joy
Of walking here
A wonderful carpet on which to walk
This time of year.
The color that's filled our gardens
All Summer through,
Is now in the process of fading
For something new.
This dramatic, rich new season
That's with us now,
Is maybe just a little sad
And yet somehow
It brings with it a promise
That though the leaves fall,
They leave behind assurance
To one and all,
That though the earth will slumber
Now and then,
It will burst forth with beauty
Once again.
