UNWANTED GOODBYES

In the quiet of a tear-stained night,
When words are heavy, hearts take flight,
We bid farewell with trembling sighs,
Yet deep within, our spirit cries.

For in that moment, parting's touch,
It hurts too much, it hurts too much,
To say goodbye when we don't desire,
To let go of a love, a cherished fire.

The ache, it swells in silent throes,
As from our lips, the sorrow flows,
A whispered word, a broken line,
A farewell laced with love's design.

But in our souls, the truth resides,
We want to hold what pain derides,
To keep you close, to never part,
And mend the fragments of this heart.

So, when we say goodbye in vain,
Our souls entwined, our hopes remain,
For in our secret dreams, we find,
A love unbroken by the hands of time.

Though distance parts our paths, it's true,
Our love endures, forever grew,
And though we say goodbye today,
In our hearts, you'll always stay.
